  1. Catalog Description:  Exposes students to the fast pace of a dental practice while they perform support services with an established team.

    4. Preparing to Enter Workforce
    5. Application of Dental Assisting Duties
    6. Interaction with Patients and Co-workers

 

  1. Learner Outcomes

                  The student will:

 

a.    Explain methods of communication in the dental office

b.    Discuss varied types of business operating systems.

c.    Demonstrate how to make appointments.

d.    Show how to complete dental insurance forms.

e.    Prepare a dental supply order form.

f.     Explain entries for accounts receivable.

g.    Describe entries for accounts payable.

h.    Discuss money management in a dental office.

i.      Prepare a résumé and cover letter.

j.      Demonstrate dental assisting capability in dental office

 

II.            Evaluation

Students will be evaluated using some combination of quizzes, essays, written assignments, tests, and clinical evaluation from clinical rotation.

 

All written assignments will be assessed for spelling, punctuation, grammar, and consistency according to the conventions of standard English.
