Engineering

Are you inspired by, and curious about, engineering marvels such as the great pyramids of Egypt, artificial hearts, super computers, the Golden Gate Bridge, the Suez Canal, solar panels, or airplanes? Unlike scientists who attempt to understand why the natural world functions the way it does, engineers are the individuals who design and create new objects or systems from their understanding of science and the needs of human beings. DCC's Engineering A.S. is designed to provide its students with a solid first two years of study in mathematics and basic sciences essential for transfer to a four year engineering program. Students who complete this program with high grades will be eligible to transfer to schools such as Virginia Tech, the University of Virginia, or other engineering schools both within and outside the Commonwealth.
