[Other Experiences]
As for my background in IT, I have been working in the field of Information Technology for over 20 years, but I have used computers since the early 80's including my first Timex personal computer that used cassette tape for data storage.

Some other work experiences I have had include: An electronic repair technician, a residential and commercial electrician, a residential and commercial electrical inspector, a line technician for cable television, and finally ending up here at DCC as an Assistant Professor of IT.

My field experiences in computers included creating my first company called Computer Consultations in 1993, which I operated for 7 years full time with a few employees to assist.  I still operate this business today, but only on a part-time basis due to my full-time teaching position.  I also created Steven's Business World Internet Services around that same time, which provided web page programming and hosting services to small and large businesses, which I discontinued in 2013 due to time constraints.

My teaching experiences are somewhat across the board in IT.  In my 15 years of teaching here at DCC I have taught classes from all 3 IT tracks, which ranges from introduction to computers to web page design using HTML, and everything else in between. I find that teaching can be very rewarding especially when I see that once shy, confused student, get that first job utilizing the exact skills they learned from taking my program; I think it really makes the whole experience worth while.
