Got ASL? We do...at DCC! What is ASL? ASL is American Sign Language which is THE language of the Deaf community. Doesn't matter if you're here in Danville or across the United States, ASL is used all over the country by the Deaf community. And, DCC has an 18 credit hour certificate program that prepares you for working with the Deaf. The purpose of the 18 credit hour certificate program is to provide you, your family, friends, and professionals a better understanding of the language and culture of the Deaf community. It is a fun-filled exciting challenge for anyone brave enough to "step into the Deaf world." Because ASL is like studying a foreign language, it can be challenging and an aptitude for languages is an asset.
