Administration of Justice - Corrections Specialization
Employment as a corrections officer has become one of the most challenging
occupations in public safety! Gone are the days of the turn-key prison guard.
Today's world of corrections is rapidly changing and the changes are creating
local, state and federal employment opportunities in a vast array of adult
corrections settings: detention centers, half-way houses, treatment units, jails
and prisons. The educational skills acquired in either the certificate in
corrections (44 credits) or the Associate in Applied Science degree in
Administration of Justice (68 credits) will mean a higher starting salary and
endless opportunities for advancement in any number of adult, youth, men's and
women's correctional settings.
