DCC Leadership Academy
The Leadership Academy at DCC will
identify future leaders from within the college and provide an intensive,
challenging program to enhance
leadership skills that motivate and empower others to achieve excellence.
What is the DCC Leadership Academy?
This program is designed to offer participants the
opportunity to develop and enhance leadership skills and competencies using a
participatory approach.
Objectives:
Identify and develop potential leaders in order to
meet the present and future leadership needs of DCC.
To bring together interested persons with diverse
knowledge and experiences who have demonstrated talent and commitment for
leadership and expand that potential.
Participants:
Six participants will be accepted in a class.
Individuals who are not selected are encouraged to reapply.
Attendance:
Sessions will typically meet the third Friday of each
month from 8 AM to 4 PM. It is essential to have your supervisor’s commitment
due to the time requirements. Participation in all Academy activities is
mandatory.
Commitment:
Participants and supervisors should be committed to
attendance of the 8-month program. Participants will have required reading and
assignments. There will be an overnight stay to Richmond.
